FESTIVAL IDENTITY DESIGN CONCEPT

Our intention in developing a festival identity is to craft visually engaging and impactful designs that serve as a powerful and relevant toolkit for our clients. We were delighted to be approached to design the identity for the inaugural Sound on Sound festival in 2022, and then get to recreate the identity again the following year in collaboration with the great folks over at Founders. The seaside vintage vista concept is centered around an inviting illustrated scene of Seaside Park, nestled on the banks of the Long Island Sound. In both years this concept showcases the prominent arch landmark in the park as well as highlighting the natural beauty of the water, foliage, flowers and trees.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT

The creative moniker was a fun place to begin a logo design from. We went through a lot of logo iterations before landing on a stacked version of hand drawn type, giving it a prominent, balance yet approachable feel. The logo concept is vintage-inspired, emphasized by custom typography and a textured foundation.

DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

Our intention for this concept was to visually convey the feeling of being seaside at the classic, boutique festival. We accomplished this through color and illustration. In year two the inspiration for the brand identity developed into a desire to capture the warm, inviting colors of autumn in New England and the magic feeling of sunsets on the water.

STYLE GUIDE

After finalizing the admat design we established a toolkit of the visual elements. The style guide serves as a reference tool, streamlining the content creation process for our clients by cohesively laying out logo usage guidelines, color palette, typography, supporting graphics and background elements. The components of this guide and its effectiveness are at the forefront of our mind throughout the entire creative process.

PAST WORK

In year one we captured the golden hour of dusk through gradient and emphasis, as the sun is setting and the lights are coming on, drawing the viewer into the music on the mainstage.
